Escaping special characters in routes: how to?

I am trying to figure out, when using the file router, how to escape characters that would otherwise cause special routing behaviors to be rendered literally in the route. I've done some digging, but for the life of me cannot find any information in docs, issues, or discussions.

That is, routes containing ./$ or starting/ending with _ are currently impossible without basically abandoning the file router all together and either switching to the code router or implementing a "custom solution" with a catch-all path param.

To achieve, for example, sitemap.xml, Remix allows escaping with [], such as sitemap[.]xml.tsx. TSR appears to have no such ability, though, as far as I can tell, and will mount that same route at sitemap[/]xml instead.

I also tried using Virtual routes, but while it does let me name the file anything arbitrary, it still attempts to parse special characters in the path name itself, resulting in the same behavior.

Is there a way to achieve this?
