Problem

The documentation for secret type for the keystore "login with password" gives the impression that all git tokens should only require the password field filled in: https://docs.semaphoreui.com/user-guide/key-store/#login-with-password

In order to use Personal Access Token (PAT) with gitlab you need to have non-empty input as Login, but anything will do.
